EXECUTIVE
COMMITTEES

All Executive Committees are overseen by the Chief of Staff. Each committee annually appoints Chairs and Assistant Chairs to lead them, while also encouraging students to join as General Committee Members. Those interested in joining or overseeing a committee can access our Join page on our Home Screen.
Budget
This committee handles organizations’ funding requests and upon thorough review, recommends all allocations to the elected representatives of Student Government, Inc. The chairs of this committee are also members of the Inter-Greek Budget Committee, as well as any other budgeting committees created by the Board.
Sustainability
The Sustainability Committee targets to strengthen our campus environmental actions through student government, departments, and recognized campus organizations. This committee makes sure to represent students’ desires to have more environment focused projects and options here at St. John’s.
Promotion of school spirit throughout the University is the responsibility of this committee. School Spirit, through the Redzone Student Section, is there to support the athletic programs of St. John’s. They help with the coordination of Homecoming activities and plan away trips to out-of-town games. The committee is also responsible for promotion of season tickets as well as ordering giveaways.
Public Relations
This committee is the primary body for the dissemination of information concerning Student Government, Inc. Responsibilities include promoting SGI, relaying pertinent information to students, SGI recruitment, updating social networking sites, and assistance with organizational publicity.
Service
This committee is responsible for building upon the University’s Vincentian mission. In addition to creating new initiatives that they deem fit, the Service Committee shall oversee Relay for Life and work in partnership with University events such as University Service Day and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk.
Equity
The Student Equity Committee is dedicated to providing a space for marginalized communities to feel represented and to advocate for students who do not know the proper avenues to do so.
Health and Wellness
The Health and Wellness Committee is dedicated to promoting all aspects of the physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional wellbeing of students on campus.
Elections
Coordinated under the supervision of the Department of Student Life, this committee organizes and facilitates all elections of Student Government, Inc. including Freshman Representative Elections in the fall semester, as well as Executive Board and College Representative Elections in the spring semester.
Student Affairs
The Student Affairs Committee coordinates and organizes staple events to St. John's mission (ie. Winter Carnival) and work to create and program new ones.
Organizations
Besides regulating established organizations’ activities on-campus, this committee handles the formation of new organizations by making recommendations of applications for the Power to Organize, permanent recognition of organizations, and reactivation of lapsed organizations. Responsibilities also include monthly Organizations Congress meetings.
Yearbook
The yearbook committee's primary focus is gathering content for the yearbook and advertising them for purchase at the end of each academic year.
Fashion, Art, and Business
The Fashion, Art, and Business (FAB) Committee's primary focus is highlighting and giving a platform to those creative students and allowing them to connect and grow with eachother.
